thank you richard for providing your reflections on our mission trip.  could a few others of you also provide your reflections.  soon would be great.  john is in the area now.  just email a paragraph or two or four to me.  thanks!!!

 

1.     We will share about our Hungary experience in the worship services on June 17 and 18.

2.     Dave Greenawalt (Budapest UMC where we ate pizza and shared and then our bus broke down again...) and his teens are visiting us May 20-21.

 

PLEASE RESPOND!

 

1.  Sharing Hungary:  at the 5:30 service on June 17th and at the 10am worship service on June 18th (we'll be going to one service that day).  If you can be at both services, great.  If you can't, that's ok, too.  Please let me know your availability.  I would also like anyone who wants to share about their experience to be able to share.  Because there are so many of us, we may need to have some of us share Sat night and some of us share on Sunday.  Not sure about that yet, but please let me know if you're willing to share something.  (More one "what to share" later).  Besides volunteering to share, you may also volunteer for any of the following for the 10am service and maybe the Sat night service:

    -    reading scripture

    -    doing a children's sermon (based on our trip)

    -    special music

    -    do we want to lead the final hymn - maybe Shout to the Lord as we did on Easter Sunday?

2.   Dave Greenawalt from Budapest UMC will share the message Sat night, May 20 at the 5:30 Christroads service and at both services on Sunday, May 21st.  He will be here with his teens looking at Messiah College.  Please try to attend one of the services and say hello to him and his family.

 

 

As for "What to share" about Hungary, here are some things to think about:  There areas where we all could share the same thing over and over (e.g. the incredible hospitality).  We'll cover this somehow in an overview of the trip before everyone shares.  You all should focus more on your journey personally.  Think about the most amazing moment(s) on the trip, your most challenging moment and where you needed God the most, your bravest moment, your most flexible moment and where you saw God in these times or other times.  Maybe you'd rather share about your calling onto this trip and how God fulfilled it.  I'm sure you all can expand from here - these are just a few ideas to get you going.
