Re: Hungary Team - Last one I promise

We all know Jackie's focus --- :-) we should assume she means March 5;
NOT May.

Help her out, do as she asks -- relieve the stress !!!

Hungary team - Prayer card info

Hi to all --

I'm still waiting to learn what you would like placed on the cards that
will be provided to those who will be praying for the team while we are in
Hungary.

The Holland team listed a description of their classroom lesson, so you
might want to provide that as well.

Just use "reply" & send me a note.

I'd really like to know that this task is completed.

Nancy

Hungary Team - Last one I promise

Everyone please verify your donation logs against Barbara's log and make sure you are on the same sheet (literally).  Please do this BEFORE the May 5th meeting.

Blessings,
Jackie

youth fundraiser profits

hi gang,
i'm playing around with the numbers - gave a few refunds, figured out expenses, had a few donations from kind people last night.  obviously we didn't make as much as we thought we would this past weekend - but I still think we did pretty well and i definitely believe God will continue to bless our efforts.  i've taken all the proceeds and put them toward hungary, so  we will plan on a carwash or other fundraiser for those wanting to raise funds for mexico.

the amount that can be added to the following people's donation logs is:  $175 (only $25 short - not bad):
Dana, Todd, Sarah, Mike, Casey, Millie, Diana, Katherine, Laura, Dave, Matt, Alex.

there is a chance i will receive more donations - as i do, i will revise the total...we may make $200 each yet!

Love,
Jackie

Hungary Financial Info

Hi Gang,
For those of you who are holding donations, please give them to Barbara/Carl by this weekend so they can be deposited.  I need to pay the balance of our airline tickets and we are $3,000 short in the account.
Thanks!
Jackie

p.s.  remember everything is due by March 5th.  For those of you with the awesome problem of going over the $1200, praise God!

i will have the amount you'll receive from the fundraiser to you by tomorrow.

Important - Hungary team - Respond Today Please

I need to know how much everyone has raised thus far on their donation logs so I can assess how badly the canceled fundraiser will hurt.  Please send me the amount you've raised/paid as of today and also let me know if you still have letters out.  THANKS!

Blessings,
Jackie

Re: youth fundraiser update

Jackie:

Thanks for the information.  I know this was a very difficult decision for you.  May we see God's best in all situations.

In  His love,

Joanne DeBoy

Re: youth fundraiser update

We regret (BELIEVE ME:  REALLY REGRET!) this, but we must cancel the youth fundraiser that we rescheduled for today.  Strasburg Rd is a sheet of ice and while the church parking lot has been plowed once, there is already another 6 inches of snow on it.

We don't want to waste the food if we can help it, though, so we are offering takeout dinners tomorrow at the church for pickup between 4:30 and 7pm.  We are also offering ticket refunds - just please let me know within the week if you would like a refund.

Thanks!

Blessings,
Jackie

Re: Church Service Calceled

To Marshallton Methodist Church Congregants:

The 11:00 church service at the Marshallton United Methodist Church has been canceled. Information regarding the Youth Fundraiser dinner will be decided later.

Enjoy some time today thinking about God's blessings and how you have seen Him work in your life or with someone you know in the past 3 days.

In Christ's love,

Joanne DeBoy

Re: YOUTH FUNDRAISER POSTPONED!

Marshallton United Methodists

Sunday School for February 12th has been canceled, as well as the 8:45 a.m. service. A decision regarding the 11:00 a.m. service will be made at a later time.

Joanne DeBoy

Re: YOUTH FUNDRAISER POSTPONED!

Due to inclement weather, we have decided it necessary to cancel both seatings today of "The Case of the Mysterious Benefactor".  We will re-schedule BOTH seatings for tomorrow (Sunday) at 4:30pm.  For anyone desiring a refund, please let me know and I'm happy to refund your money.

TO:  Youth and those working the fundraiser:
Sound will meet at 1pm
The Cast will meet at 1:30pm for rehearsal
Waiters and kitchen come at 2pm for setup and prep

Any questions, let me know.
Thanks!
Jackie

Youth Fundraiser Update

We are watching the weather forecast closely.  As it stands now, we will still meet at 2:00pm (earlier for those of you in the dinner theater and doing sound).  It looks like the snow is only 40% to start at 4pm, so our chances of getting in the 4:30 seating are good.  I'll wait until tomorrow to make a decision about the 8pm.  If we wind up cancelling one or both of the seatings, we will try to do both seatings together on Sunday at 4:30pm.

Waiters:  Don't forget to wear black and white

Card tables should be coming from:  Carl, Matt Myers, Alex, Dana, Aly, Joanne

Sandy and Joanne:
I inventoried the kitchen last night for a few things:
We have set 15 tables for guests (there are also 4 cast tables, but they don't need to have everything on them)
bread baskets:  could use a few more - there are some we can get over in the youth house
cream and sugars:  there are enough cream pitchers, but we'll need to use small bowls to supplement the sugar bowls
water pitchers:  need at least 7 more to have one water pitcher on each table .  I think we'll need a few more to do iced tea refills.
Coffee pots for decaf and hot water:  Bring what you've got and I'll try to find a couple before tomorrow.
Salt & Pepper sets:  need one more - I'll get it

Everyone - please keep checking your email!
Thanks!

Blessings,
Jackie

Electricity Needs in Austria

Hi Team:
I'm assuming it will  be the same for Hungary.  I will let you know.  I bought a converter set at Bed Bath and Beyond for $20.
Jackie

Electricity
The electrical current in Austria is 220 volts, 50 cycles alternating current (AC); wall outlets take continental-type plugs, with two round prongs.

To use U.S.-purchased electric-powered equipment, you'll need a voltage converter and an adapter plug. If your appliances are dual-voltage, you'll need only an adapter. (Most laptops operate equally well on 110 and 220 volts and so require only an adapter.) Don't use 110-volt outlets, marked "For Shavers Only," for high-wattage appliances such as blow-dryers.

Blessings,
Jackie

Re: Hungary Team Reminders - print out for your books!

Hi All-

I will be some printing business cards for all of you to give to individuals while you are in Hungary.  I haven't designed them yet, but they will probably have Atlantic Bridge on them and Marshallton church, and a Bible verse.

Please let me know if you are interested, and if so, let me know what address and email address you'd like to put on the card.  I expect I'll make 20 for each person that wants them.  I know how a lot of you are about reading email, so TALK to each other about this.

If you don't reply, I can't make you any cards, so hit REPLY if you're interested.

carl

Subject: Hungary Team Reminders - print out for your books!

1.    FOREIGN MONEY:  Email me BEFORE Feb 17 the amount of euro and forint you would like for me to get for you for spending money.  Base it on U.S. dollars.  This is important as it will save us oodles of time changing money over when we get there.  Please talk to your parents about how they want you to make purchases.  Credit card is easiest.  You should also be able to use an ATM if you have STAR or PLUS (check the back of your card).  Remember, though, that there will be smaller purchases (like snacks or postcards) where you may need to pay cash.

2.   Pack a bath towel for use at the hostels.

3.   Email me questions you you want me to ask the Hungarian teachers and students (again, before Feb 17).

4.    Pack a nice outfit for church on Palm Sunday and Easter:  Guys:  collared shirt with a tie and nice pants.  Gals:  dress pants or skirt with nice top.  A dress if ok, too.

5.    If you are under 18, remember to bring your parents March 5th to have your permission form notarized.  We are meeting between 12:15 and 4pm.  I'll let you know what time the notary will be here (it will be somtime between 1 and 2:30.

6.  All other forms and date of your last tetnaus shot to Barb.

7.    Contact Barbara or Carl on your own to make deposits from money you've earned or received (since our next meeting is not until March 5th).

8.    During your three weeks without a meeting, you need to stay focused on this trip.
-Keep your G-R-A-C-E prayers recorded and try to pray daily.
-Get together with the person(s) you're teaching with and PRACTICE.
-Practice your Hungarian phrases (everyone will have a CD by next
            Sunday)
-Practice "The Voice of the Lord" with the CD (in front of a mirror if
possible).  Remember to sing along with the parts you're signing and
         put some feeling into it.
-Memorize your lines for "The Empty Spot"
9.    Refer to the three page checklist I emailed to you earlier in the week
and accomplish any of the deadlines you can.
10.    Pray for me from Feb 17-22 while I am in Mosonmagyarovar and Vienna.  Pray for God's guidance and help in handling details of the trip.  Also please pray for me to LET God guide me.
11.    Be grateful I'm not making you wear the neon tee shirt!
12.    Encourage each other through emails, phone calls, and face to face.
13.    Make sure your parents are FULLY up to speed on all the details of your trip (including the Sat night service and Sunday dedication service).

Blessings,
Jackie

for our meeting this week...

it turns out (and i didn't make this decision on my own) that it's better if i make the second trip to mosonmagyrovar - so i'm scheduled to go back to hungary later this month (leaving the eve of feb 17 and returning feb 21) to finalize plans and make sure we are all on the same page.  bring with you to our meeting or email questions that you have about our trip in April - not so much stuff to do with schedule - but other questions you may have asked steve.  or questions you would like to ask of the students.  i will be meeting with the teachers and hopefully, also with some students...so i can get some answers.

also - a reminder to keep that money coming in - i will need to give john a deposit when i see him later this month.

Blessings,
Jackie

Another important update to put in your notebooks

March 5th is shaping up to be a critical meeting date!
Eva Nagy Wilkins will be coming to talk to us about Hungary and quiz us on our Hungarian phrases.  We also have Linda Wolfe with us to notarize our papers.  We will be taking out team picture.  All your lines need to be memorized when we review "The Empty Spot" and "Voice of the Lord".  With this meeting being so full, we will definitely meet until 4pm  AND rather than trying to teach 2 lessons, we will only hear from "American Potpourri".  I'm moving "American Holidays" to March 19th's team meeting.

Mark and Candy - Eva will  be with us from 2:45-4pm.

    Thanks!
