Re: trip to hungary

Hi,

Thought you all might like to know that in the last hour I dropped Jackie &
Alex at their respective doors. Their original plan had been to arrive
home tomorrow but just because of a potential British Ariways strike they
moved their return up to today, expecting to arrive in Phila around 2:20
pm. Unfortunately their flight out of Vienna was delayed by several hours
& so they missed their connection in London.

Since they did not sleep Sunday night in order to be at the airport early
Monday morning, they will be crashing & recovering tomorrow (Tuesday).

Sounds like they had a great trip & all the Hungarian students are eager to
be with us this summer !

Hi Everyone!

Jackie called me from Hungary. They got there fine - no snow, but very cold. Picked up John O at the train station. Saw some of the kids and met with Timmi and Barbara and also saw Atilla and Annette. They were very tired, but looking forward to the training tomorrow.

They will be returning on Monday.

fyi, British Airways is going on strike and our return flights on Tuesday have been canceled. i have managed to book us to return on Monday on the same flights, arriving at 2:20.

Hungary Team THIS Saturday 7pm

Hi Gang,
As you know, John Oo is in town.  He would like us to share about our Hungary trip with a potential team from a church in Lansdale.  I am hoping that we can just do it at Marshallton, but have not been able to reach Phyllis yet to see if fellowhship hall is available.  I know it is a Saturday night and that is tough, so I REALLY appreciate anyone who can come.  John will speak about the need in Europe, I will talk briefly about the process of getting us ready and then you can each share and we'll take questions afterwards.  Everyone's perspective is important!  The following people have told me they can come. Everyone please RSVP to this email and confirm either way.  (we are not going to try to do THE EMPTY SPOT, unless by some miracle I get more of you to come than I'm expecting):

Drama "The Empty Spot"

Hello Hungary team members and Youth Group:
 
We have an opportunity to present our drama "The Empty Spot" at Bethlehem Methodist on Saturday, September 30th.  The timing would be somewhere in the late afternoon or evening - I'm still waiting to hear.  This is a weekend training meeting for potential Atlantic Bridge leaders.  John Oostdyk would like us to present our play and then also have some of you who went to Hungary share your experience.  PLEASE let me know if you can be available that day.
 
Also, youth group, in the event that some of the Hungary team is not available, let me know if you are interested in taking a part.  It is an easy play to pop characters in and out of.
 
We would probably have one rehearsal before hand and schedule it when everyone is available.
 
So, please let me know who can do it, so I can start the planning process.

seales yard sale

hi gang,
I dropped over to the seales tonight and they, along with the knepleys are working really hard to organize the yard sale that will benefit AB.  we still need a few more helpers.  in particular, we could use some abled-bodies to help us tomorrow night (fri).  we just need to move things out of the garage and put them on tables.  it won't take too long if we have plenty of hands.  billye is buying pizza for everyone who helps and i'm available to give rides.  please let me know if you can help.  email  back or call my cell 215-858-2760.  THANKS!

Labor Day Cookout - please respond

Hello Hungary Team and Families,
As you know, Anna (from Budapest) will be here this Sunday.  On Monday, I'd like to invite everyone to my house for a cookout (or cook-in - depending on the weather).  We'll start at 4pm and go to about 7-7:30.  Please let me know if you can be here and if you are bringing family.  If you would like to bring a food contribution, that is great, but not necessary.  THANKS!
